Last street circuit I had a few cars that spinned and suddenly drive backwards/forward while you just decided to go left or right around them. I wonder what the rule is here. Like stay still until there is no car coming, unless you are blocking the whole track? I think corner 3 to 5 are likely to cause trouble. Maybe also slow enough down when there is a yellow. But still, if a car suddenly moves it's hard to know if you go left or right of him. I know it's hard to tell for each situation. Probably it's also me that is spinning there lol

I think that applies to me... ? I think the rule is, you have to let all the cars pass until you move...
It wasn't only you :) I don't want to call out specific drivers. It can happen to all of us. But the point was more to call out that we are driving on a very narrow circuit and getting passed a spinned car can be tricky. Think it's best to look at your driver tracker before moving. And other cars should slow down a bit when there is a yellow flag in those narrow sectors. Also, don't overtake with a yellow? ;)

any ideas why this happening? E
very time I connect to server it says "Waiting for server". If I exit and immediately reconnect everything is fine. This stared at last race. At Melbourne it was fine

Frank very good point. I must say I was quite surprised few times how agressive some drivers are.. I think it would be fair from everyone if they wouldnt pass under yellow flag.. also you had case when you have been passed from driver behind when you were under blue flag! I think this is not fair! At this point I would also like to thank you Frank for very good driving when you are blue flagged! Sometimes I am almost scared when I have to pass someone else, but this is definilty not you!!!

I realy think passing under blue or yellow flag should be prohibited and penalised because this behavier can be dangerus and can make lot of damidge to other drivers! Judges cant watch all race replay so it is also lot off on us, drivers who can report dangerus driving, passes,...

I agree with both off you but...yes there is a big BUT we cannot garaunte that every driver will respect that and i'll give you an example. In Canada on the last big straight car A is overpassing car B and while they are side by side in that moment there is a yellow flag for few seconds and ends before last corner. Now both of them are side by side going in corner, lets say car A let him go and dont attack( respecting the yellow flag rule) ok all good and fine car A will get him next lap, that sounds like fair play right? Well it is competition, and everyone interprets it differenetly. The scenario of above can be also different and car A attacks car B on last corner but car B thinks that car A respects the yellow flag and accident happens also car A can tell us that there was no yellow flag on the corner but before and he didnt overpass him. I think we can do more harm than good with this yellow flag rule. Yes slow down if you see yellow flag next few corners as there can be someone crashed or someone wanting to turn with spin. Now this is big topic and i know evereyone wants everything that they brought from other sites.

This things can be implemented when as community we grow and expand. We can have race steward and all of our drivers and every teams enginer on teamspeak. Example, if there is yellow flag, steward says no passing and when to pass. If the rule is broken steward tells him to give the place back if he overpassed you or he gets a pit drive through.

For now everything is ok and most of the drivers respected blue flags. But because this is closed circuit maybe we will be more harsh if you dont slow down on yellow flag and crash into spinned car on track but again, yellow flag can be different and you dont know what to expect , did someone just touch a wall, is there a car on the road, etc.

I want for all to have a pleasent and enjoyable experience on Sunday, so i encourage you all if you can come on Friday at 20.30 gmt+ 1 on server and lets have a race, we dont have to Q, just straight to race around 10-15 laps and then we put back on practice so we as moderators can judge it better. Ty

Enjoy.

well, I think nobody is going to slow down for a yellow if the car behind you don't have a rule to stay behind the other car in this situation :) Think if they are already side by side is a different situation. But it would really suck if you have a 2 second gap, slow down for a yellow and the car behind you overtakes you because you have dropped down speed. I don't think we really need race engineers for that. Both cars see a yellow, if he sees the car in front of him slows down of it, it would just be fair/polite to not overtake him because of that. Note that I don't think we should have judges who are going to look at all cases or have a hard rule for it. Think we can just add it as a soft rule for this circuit. And just trust people to do it. I also raced in competition with RC cars for some small prices. And very often it happened if the number 2 accidentally spinned out the number 1 in a fight they would just wait for him until he starts driving again. There is no rule to do this. Just politeness.

I can't make the race on friday. I am at a concert.

I think this will not work.

This is simply not in our blood. In reality they have yellow flags for safety issues not because it's fair. Since we dont have safety isssue nobody has ever cared bout this.

You also cannot compare because in games you don't have real vision and it's hard to see flags sometimes which are instantly poping on and off.

Another story is how to control this.

We are driving for fun let us not forget this and we should keep it simple.

I see things quite easy here. I don't think you really need to slow down every time yellow flag pops up. You need to rise your awareness to the happening in front of you. But to just blindly lift for no reason can (and usually is) also be very dangerous maneuver. I'm using Simhub trackmap overlay, so I can easily check if someone spun or is off track at least one corner in-front. Sometimes these yellows pop up even for accidents behind us. Of course if there's accident ahead and someone overtakes you under yellow flags, you need to report it to the stewards after the race.

I think its very important for the cars that went off track or spun on the track to behave very carefully and predictable. I've seen a recovery in last race that I really didn't like. And I've seen a car standing in last corner in the middle of the track for way too long.

well, I wasn't really meaning everytime you see a yellow. More like if you see a car spinned in front of you. And yeah +1 for being carefully and predictable when re-joining. And +1 for driving for fun :)
